Even with steady 50 mile an hour winds, this group found a way to enjoy the day. Note the girl leaning forward — she held that forward lean for a good 15 seconds, propped up by the headwinds. This shot was taken down by the Cove beach.

Shot taken down by the beautiful, off-the-beaten-path of Higbees Beach. It's cool the way the the birds race by so fast about 2 inches above the ocean surface. I think they're on their early evening scout for surface bugs.

Now, visitors who have never been here before can easily, without leaving the site, learn more about Cape May. Like where it is for starters. Or how about the names and locations of streets and beaches. This map is a great tool that's simple to use for anyone planning a trip to town. We're also introducing custom Google Maps as a value added sponsor feature which we'll explain in more detail when that goes live, shortly.

Cape May has a lot of churches, sometimes you can find 10 within a block. I haven't been inside too many but I have admired from the outside the funky cool doors. They feature all kinds of vibrant colors and textures.

I've driven by this particular door a thousand times over the years. The other day the striking red and oval shape caught my attention amidst the clean white snow that descended quietly from the skies.

A beautiful sunset last night gave at least a little reprieve to the cold dreary weather that's been hanging in this area way too long. I always think people in row boats look like they're having fun.

Cape May is known for its old fashioned gingerbread charm and at no time is this more vividly evident than during the Christmas season.

This cheery B&B is two blocks from where I live. Driving home tonight I thought it looked so beautiful, I pulled over to grab a shot. Having no tripod, I set up the camera on my truck front hood. That's the reflection you see on the bottom. It looks like this house is right on the water, but it's not. It's reflecting on my truck hood.

Another photograph from that beautiful day last week that featured high winds and strong seas. Here in this shot we see the Cape May Lewes Ferry completing it's run to Cape May as the shore waves rear up on their way to the Cape May shores, fighting the heavy winds.
