Google has found capemayX!
Michael Longfellow on
Fri, June 1
CapemayX's Michael Longfellow speaks to local businesses looking to gain a competitive edge for their
online marketing initiatives. The takeaway message: capemayX stories are starting to rate at the top of many targeted Google searches so you should consider our sponsor opportunities for your Cape May business or service.
CapemayX has received terrific feedback about our photography, our one of a kind video interviews, super easy sharing tools, and unique approach to covering Cape May stories. But the real benefit to Cape May businesses and visitors is when the major search engines start ranking our unique content at the top of specific, relevant searches. That's happening right now and we're thrilled.
Relevance
In the online search world, relevance is the name of the game. If content is not relevant and plugged in to the search engines correctly (a whole 'nother discussion and critical in this process), it's difficult to appear in the top of a search result. These days, people research online before arriving in town: accommodations, restaurants, activities, history, everything. And even when they arrive, they might search more since wireless is so ubiquitous and accessible. Search is how people discover, and search engines reward sites that build relevant content that changes often and stays focused on a site's niche. Relevance matters and we've built capemayX from the ground up with this as a strategic goal..Case in Point
Words are great, but it's results that count so let's look at some examples of how capemayX stories play out in a typical search.
Sharing another sunset of a lifetime
Michael Longfellow on
Thu, May 31 This couple set up a perfect perch to take in another spectacular Cape May Point sunset a few days back. The board surfer was the cherry on top of an already beautiful scene.
I talked to them briefly — quite nice — and without prying got the sense they've been together a long, long time. Sometimes you can just tell. And apparently their Cape May visits had become a part of their wonderful family routine.
There's so much subtext to the simplicity of an elderly couple enjoying their time together. Think how many times over the years they've enjoyed scenes different than this one, but in a way, exactly the same. What a great joy, to have a lifelong partner together in your later years, enjoying each other and getting outside to take in all the simple wonderful beauty that surrounds us every day. Together.

ImageKind Features capemayX Photography

Wed, May 30 Here's a screenshot of the ImageKind front page, featuring the capemayX galleries on their home page ImageKind, a world leader in online fine art printing (and our personal online print and framing partner, yeeha!), has featured the capemayX galleries on their home page today. This is exciting. Their unique website reaches a global audience of artists and photographers, as well as an educated, affluent demographic. People who might be interested in finding and purchasing high quality prints from leading artists throughout the world.
Reaching a World Wide Audience
In just a few hours, we've received numerous correspondence from, well, everywhere. Now certainly we love the compliments. And we REALLY love the purchases. :O) But what also gets us fired up is when people — by simply enjoying photography that features Cape May's natural beauty, want to come to Cape May as a result. Many have said they want to come here to experience first hand Cape May's beauty and uniqueness. That kind of response is why we created capemayX.com and it's a beautiful thing to see that awareness momentum pick up speed to the point that others seek out the same experience. That is cool. Here's one quote we like."... Wow, what a beautiful place, I have to get myself there sometime soon, your photographs really capture the magic of that part of the world. Thank you".
We couldn't have said it better ourselves. Stay tuned, we have more great things that can help promote and brand Cape May. We'll be launching in small bites in the coming weeks.
By the way, the ImageKind website is a really fun place to browse. Many top, world reknown artists and photographers sell their work there, and it's quite a fun way to uncover the perfect colorful gift to give a friend or even yourself. So check it out.
You can see the capemayX ImageKind galleries by clicking the button to the left, or by clicking here. (Hey, I know what you're thinking, but some people like to click buttons, some like text).
Memorial Day Reflection
Michael Longfellow on
Mon, May 28 I popped in for a quick hello at Jack and Harriet's on Benton, this Memorial Day afternoon, and noticed their beautifully wild garden out front with daisies, roses and other flowers. From the deck, I watched as their flag billowed back and forth across the daisies and it just struck me as a fantastic juxtaposition to honor the spirit of Memorial Day.
