Cape May's Best Home Made Ice Cream

Handmade ice cream Cape May style right off the Parkway just past the Exit Zero traffic light.

Hand cranked tasty delicious homemade ice cream at the tip of south jersey

Here's a question: where can you buy Cape May's best home made ice cream? Two weeks ago, I didn't know the answer even though I've lived here for over 6 years and consider myself an avid ice cream lover. Well, the answer is the Vanilla Bean Creamery of course, a tiny little place you never heard of, that does not advertise, that you could very well pass a thousand times driving the lanes of south jersey on the Garden State Parkway, and never even notice the little pink ice cream sign and purple building that features some of south jersey's freshest and best homemade ice cream.

I love everything about this hidden gem. It's unassuming. It's off the beaten path. And their hand cranked ice cream and unique flavor combinations are such wonderful discoveries, you'll find yourself running the menu during multiple visits.

Stella in the Evening Night

Driving home, I passed this house that was drenched in setting sun light. I pulled my truck over onto the shoulder and snapped a few. The mottled light and shadows were mesmerizing, and the cute creature peering from behind the reflecting doors only ads to the surreal affect.

Lulu's Cape May Gallery Crab Cake Fund Raiser Night Out

Lulu%20gallery%20520%20030.jpg

What a great night out

Many thanks to all the great people that attended the Lulu's Cafe Gallery event. We got a chance to present some of our favorite capemaX photography, we raised money for the animal shelter that burned down, and Lulu's Cafe featured the best new crab cakes in South Jersey (now serving at night). And because it's worth repeating, the new Lulu's crabcakes are the best in South Jersey, if not some of the best on the whole eastern seaboard. Just as delicious as you would imagine how a perfect crab cake should taste, and we plan a follow-up story to get the details on what makes them so tasty good.

Canvas Prints

A beautiful night at Lulu's Cafe enjoying new Cape May perspectives
Wow, there was such a great reaction to our capemayX photography. Personally, I really appreciate that and I thank anyone and everyone who was kind enough to fire a compliment my way. It motivates me to get out there and capture more great shots that tell the ongoing stories of Cape May in unique, creative new ways. We were thrilled also, that people loved the canvas prints. They are of the highest quality and make for the perfect way to hang up our unique photographic views of Cape May in your home or office.

Evening Lights

Evening Lights, originally uploaded by Michael/ capemayX.

This shot was taken on the eve of this year's summer solstice.

Cape May's oldest residential street, Hughes Street, has many off these old fashioned gas lamps to help illuminate the beautiful evenings in town. And check out the moon up there!

through the CMBP peep hole

Right before sunset we're looking through from the backside of a Lifeguard Stand. We hope to feature more images from this unique perspective, maybe storm waves, seeing beach goers walk by, swimmers paddling about, or children building sand castles. The framing certainly creates a unique feel and view for the daily beach life.
