If you're a business in town looking for an edge in your online, and off-line marketing efforts, you might find it interesting that more capemayX.com stories are being indexed to google searches faster.

google search result: cape may ice cream We track all stories to gauge audience interest, but also to see how quickly Google may pick up the story in their index. Because after all they have to index a story before it appears in a search result. We've mentioned in past posts how we've built capemayX.com from the ground up to provide relevant, targeted, interesting content so that people will read it, and so it has the greatest chance to appear in a search result. Two stories we've run recently show just how much success we're achieving both in position and speed with which we're picked up and indexed on page one for non-paid for search.
For example, we just ran a story about the only place in Cape May that you can buy homemade ice cream, at the Vanilla Bean Creamery. If you type the somewhat general search cape may ice cream, the story we created last week is about 5 spots down on the 1st search page. That's in one week!

Search result for: cape may home made ice cream And if you type cape may homemade ice cream, we're at the top of the first search page. And remember, this is organic search, not the paid kind that appears to the right. The organic is much harder to penetrate.
Also, for the story about the Gallery event at Lulu's, we covered their excellent new crab cake. When you type cape may best crab cake into the search, that story and crab cake coverage shows up at the top of the first Google search results page.
Are we promising this for every story? No, we can't do that, but if you'd like this kind of results based thinking and creativity to add value to your Cape May business or service, contact us.

Of course Google index all sites. The big deal, however, is that for many of our stories that might be on the radar of visitors and out of towners looking to find family activities, we consistently rank at the top of the organic non-paid search. So for example, say you're a family looking for something fun to do with your kids, and you love ice cream. That might be a typical search (or Pizza, or horse carriage tours, or many of the other 200 targeted stories we've covered). Why wouldn't it be? And how else will you quickly and easily find out where the area's only home made ice cream is if you don't do a search online? That's the point my friend, and a very big deal as we move into the future of this new media world.
So back to the big deal... the big deal is simple. It's getting indexed at the top of the search, consistently and relevantly. Companies pay quite a lot of money to get first page exposure on Google, and we're there because we understand relevance.
So "me", if you work for a local media property, and my guess is you do, why not use your real name. Then we can have a real conversation. And if you'd like to add constructive input, or ask a question, I'd be happy to answer whatever question you might have, or even to help you understand why this can be important in the rapidly changing landscape of new media, advertising and online marketing. You may even learn something that you can apply immediately to your own business or service. Hope to hear from you again.
Sincerely,
Michael L.
From everything I've seen so far, www.capemayX.com seems to be building a fantastic resource for vistitors and locals alike. That people can find relevant stories aboutt Cape May online is, well, I guess you either get or you don't. And anyone that posts a somewhat sarchastic comment and signs off "me", well you do the math. Good luck to you me.
I tracked down the "most visited cm county site" (out of curiosity), so I guess that makes you CapeMayCountyHerald.com. It's a fantastic site, really well put together. Comprehensive, clean layout, and easy to navigate. Kudos.
We should meet sometime over a beer and ribs at Lucky Bones and talk shop. See you online.
Cheers,
ML
