The Cape May Carriage Company is a bona fide Cape May icon. In business since the early 1980's, we've all seen the horses clopping the Cape May streets hauling vacationer cargo and delivering would be brides and grooms to the church on time. In all the years, however, we've never personally known the horses by name (speaking for myself of course). So capemayX.com set out to introduce ourselves to Magic, Knight and the crew.

horses_19.reins.jpg In this short video story, Beverly, the charismatic owner of the company and a self described horse lover since age 10, welcomes us to her farm. She introduces a few majestic equines as they prepare for a night working the streets, and we even learned a thing or two about shoes. Knowing even a few simple details of how these beautiful animals live, their history and names, changes your perspective. The next time you see them on the streets you'll know... "Hey there's Magic!" Check the Cape May Carriage Company website for more information on booking historic tours, or for your wedding day. Maybe the next report I'll take the tour — haven't been on one yet! I'm curious if they'll mention the Longfellow House on Hughes Street.
