Cape May's fee-free ATMs?

no atm fees.jpgWe've listed all Cape May ATMs that don't charge a fee. By our count there's two. Who isn't annoyed by ATM fees? It's a small detail that subtly says "we're going to nickel and dime you, because we can." Sure businesses make an extra buck or two. But long term is it worth it? Is business that good?

If I need money and I'm purchasing, I'll most always go the few extra blocks to find the liquor store, bank, or gas station that has no fees. It feels better. Good customer experience is always in those details.

Challenge: a Cape May business that currently charges ATM fees should remove the fees and announce it to the world. Or at least to town. Leverage that strategy to differentiate your business from your Cape May competition. You think there would be a spike in traffic? Customer satisfaction? Do you think people will talk about it? Maybe, maybe not. But I'll bet a Lemon Chicken Salad at George's Restaurant that the response will stun your management committee, the same group that probably approved the strategy to charge a fee. Someone take me up on it. Just send a personal email and I'll spec out the challenge details, and I'll post a follow up, so we can have a witness. Last thought: has anyone noticed the traffic at Wawa?

Here's a list of all fee free ATMs in town. Please add to the list (post in commments) if we missed any.

Wawa - on Bank Street
Wawa - on Texas Avenue
